I arrived in Witney as Team Vicar in 2017 and it is a privilege to serve here in this wonderful place. My early life included studying Music in Birmingham, London and Glasgow, coaching opera singers as a Repetiteur, directing choirs - and as an orchestral Violinist, performing in Canada, Russia and Germany. I trained additionally as a Psychiatric Nurse in 1995 and worked for the next 16 years for the NHS, developing a clinical specialism in Eating Disorders. For my last three years in the NHS I worked as a Specialist Nurse with CAMHS / Youth Offending Services. Eventually responding more robustly to an earlier calling to Ministry, I was Ordained in 2014 in Bristol Diocese. Much of my Parish work today draws on my prior Therapeutic practice in the NHS - Genogram, Systems Theory, Family Therapy and the principles of Group Analysis. I’m responsible for the Benefice Pastoral Visiting Team, I oversee the Exploring Spirituality Programme, and I’m a Deanery Vocations Adviser. I have recently began doing some advocacy work with families who have lost a child. I have two adult children, both musicians, pursuing careers in STEM. I’m married to Robin and we have a much loved Cat, Oscar.
