Julia Bee

Anna Chaplain for Older People

0792 961 8004 | Email
Julia was commissioned as Anna Chaplain for the Parish of Witney in 2021 and offers spiritual support to older people, their loved ones and carers through home visiting and in Care Homes. Initially a professional teacher, in 1998 she undertook a two-year full-time ministry course at Wycliffe Hall Theological College, which enabled her to further develop her volunteer lay ministry in various directions. She has worked at Sobell House Hospice and as a chaplain at The Churchill Hospital. Other opportunities for ministry in the community have included The Archway Foundation (for those experiencing loneliness), church pioneer on a new estate, and Baptism Co-ordinator. Julia has been a spiritual director since 2004. She is currently growing the Witney Parish Anna Chaplaincy Team and championing the needs of older people in the wider community. She hopes to further expand this outreach work, by recruiting more Anna Friends across the benefice soon. Julia is married to Lawrence, mother to adult children and a grandmother to three grandchildren.
